Court documents filed Thursday suggest the Warsaw man accused of killing a 2-year-old girl will plead guilty but mentally ill to murder.

The Times Union reports 30-year-old Christopher Grimmett would serve 50 years under the plea agreement.

Grimmett was dating the mother of 2-year-old Adalin Stamper when the girl was found buried in the back yard of a Warsaw home in November. Police say Grimmett confessed to killing Adalin and burying her in the backyard.

Sentencing is set for Monday.
