Two stabbings reported within 12 hours in South Bend and Niles

Two reported stabbings, two Michiana towns, two victims, 12 hours apart.

The first incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, as Niles Police were called to investigate a stabbing in the area of Silverbrook Avenue and South 15th St.

A 36 year-old woman was attacked from behind by a white male and was cut in the arm and chest. She’s recovering from her injuries and a knife was recovered near the scene.

Meanwhile, police in South Bend are investigating a stabbing incident at the Wooden Indian Motel on Lincolnway East that happened just after 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

A 35 year-old woman reported being stabbed in the arm and there is no word on her condition.
