A Highland woman arrested after police say they saw her driving erratically on the Indiana Toll Road near the Elkhart exit faces OWI, resisting arrest, and a few other charges.

Investigators say they spotting 41-year-old Carrie Kooi swerving from lane to lane before stopping at the toll road plaza. An officer approached the vehicle and found the woman behind the wheel, asleep, with the motor still running.

They say Kooi was slow to respond and uncooperative and that she offered money, several times, in hopes the officer would let her go.

Among her other charges: bribery and battery by bodily waste. She’s accused of trying to bribe the officer, then spitting on him several times.
