A Rennselaer man is accused of killing a cat while imagining it was his ex-girlfriend.

That’s according to court documents in the case of 29-year-old William Morrow, who was arrested on domestic violence, animal cruelty, and domestic battery warrants earlier this month.

The Elkhart Truth reports a woman told Goshen police that Morrow had been battering her in June of last year. When she tried to escape from him, he allegedly killed her 8-month-old pet cat and sent her photos of the act.

He’s facing up to three and a half years in prison if convicted.
