An autopsy will be conducted Tuesday on a person found dead at a home in Mishawaka.

Emergency dispatchers received a call for a medical check at a home in the 200 block of Bastogne Avenue just after 3 a.m. Monday. Medics and the fire crews were initially sent, but, upon their arrival, they determined that police should be involved.

Mishawaka Police Department officers discovered one person dead. A second person with non-life threatening injuries was also found at the home and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide was on scene at the home throughout the day.

At this point, investigators believe it’s an isolated incident related to that home only, and there is not a neighborhood safety concern.
