The First Lady is in Michigan today.
Melania Trump is making good on a promise to combat childhood bullying, and making a surprise visit to a middle school in a suburb of Detroit.
She says she’s bringing awareness to a problem that many children face on a daily basis. Her plans include eating lunch with students as they participate in “No One Eats Alone Day,” a national event addressing social isolation.
During a speech last month at the U.N., the First Lady said she intends to use her time in the role to help with issues facing children.
She perhaps foreshadowed her interest in an anti-bullying platform in August, when she tweeted her gratitude to Chelsea Clinton for coming to the defense of her 11-year-old son, Barron.
