A Mishawaka plant will be closing by the end of September next year.

That’s according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice that Ascensia Diabetes Care has filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The first layoffs at their facility at 430 S. Beiger St. will take place before the end of the year.

The company blames “changing requirements” for the layoffs. The South Bend Tribune reports the company was established in early 2016 when Panasonic Healthcare Holdings purchased Bayer Diabetes Care.
