Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush paid a visit to Notre Dame Friday.

Bush and the former first lady attended the dedication of O’Neill Hall, a new building that sits adjacent to the south side of Notre Dame Stadium. The building is named for Joseph I. O’Neill III, who the South Bend Tribute reports has been good friends with the Bushes for a long time.

O’Neill Hall is home to a lot of components of Notre Dame’s music and performance programs, including recital and performance halls, classrooms and faculty offices for the Department of Music and also houses the Sacred Music at Notre Dame program.

Bush has made six visits to Notre Dame, including offering the commencement address in 2001.
