Here’s the Halloween trick-or-treat times for Michiana

The time for stuffing buckets and bags full of candy has arrived.

If you wish to entertain kids at your doorstep, be sure to leave a porch or similar outdoor light on. However, the times for trick-or-treating in Michiana cities varies depending on where you are.

It’s 5 to 7 p.m. local time for most cities, including

  • South Bend
  • Mishawaka
  • Osceola
  • Bremen
  • Bristol
  • Bourbon
  • Middlebury
  • Michigan City (Central Time)
  • Nappanee
  • New Carlisle
  • Plymouth
  • Walkerton
  • Wakarusa

If you live in Elkhart and LaPorte, it’s 6 until 8 p.m. local time (ET in Elkhart, CT in LaPorte).

In Goshen, you get an extra half hour as trick-or-treating runs from 5:30 until 8 p.m. there.

In Niles and Edwardsburg, it’s 6 until 7:30 p.m.

And if you live in Rolling Prairie or Shipshewana, it’s 5:30 until 7 PM local time (CT in Rolling Prairie, ET for Shipshewana).

And if your kids are going out to hunt for treats, make sure they’re wearing either a brightly-colored costume or some reflective tape, so they can be spotted by drivers. Also, remind them not to dart out into the street as well.
