A LaPorte man is facing federal charges over his alleged child pornography hobby.

24-year-old Christopher Michael Bangs is charged with three counts of transportation, receipt, and possession of child pornography, according to the South Bend Tribune.

Saskatchewan police in Canada reportedly started investigating him last year after officers there arrested another man for sharing child porn on a mobile chat application. That man cooperated with investigators and let investigators use his account to capture other users, according to court documents. 72 users were unearthed, and one of them was allegedly Bangs.

After a search warrant in August, over 1,000 images and 50 videos were allegedly found on Bangs’ computer that he accumulated over three years.
