Cops & Doughnuts in South Bend to close Wednesday

A doughnut shop in South Bend is about to stuff its last box.

The Cops & Doughnuts location, which opened in August of last year, will be closing at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

One of the managers told the South Bend Tribune that the location, which was formerly Dainty Maid, hasn’t been getting enough business.

Cops & Doughnuts took over the Dainty Maid location after the former franchise had to shut its doors after 88 years in South Bend. The group of officers from Clare, Mich. made the South Bend location one of their half-dozen locations in 2009.
