Not long after his accomplice was sentenced, a Rolling Prairie man has been sentenced in federal court for his role in a string of robberies.

34-year-old Nicholas Kellogg was sentenced this week to a little over seven years in prison, followed by a year of supervised release, after helping commit several robberies in St. Joseph and LaPorte Counties in January.

Kellogg was the wheelman for Timothy Bennitt, who proceeded to rob an Admiral gas station and Dollar General store in St. Joseph County on Jan. 12. He also drove Bennitt two days later, when Bennitt robbed the Blacksmith Shop in Rolling Prairie and Jet’s Pizza in Mishawaka.

Bennitt was sentenced last week to 15 years in prison for his role on the robberies.
