Rolling Prairie man involved in January robbery spree sentenced to prison

A Rolling Prairie man has been sentenced to prison afeter a robbery spree earlier this year.

27-year-old Timothy Bennitt has been sentenced to 15 years in prison this week in federal court. The Northern District of Indiana convicted him of robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Bennitt was found to have committed six armed robberies at St. Joseph and LaPorte County in January. Those robberies include the Blacksmith Restaurant in Rolling Prairie on January 14th, along with the Taco Bell on East Ireland Road and an Admiral gas station, both two days prior.

His partner in crime, Nathan Kellogg, will be sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty to four of those robberies.
