One man is dead and another is recovering after being shot at a night club on South Bend’s west side early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday at the Enigma Ballroom and Club on W. Indiana Ave. near State Road 23.

35-year-old Tolies Word Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. A 32-year-old man was treated and released after suffering what officers called a “non-life threatening injury.”

Despite there being multiple people at the nightclub, police have not arrested anyone at this time and are asking those patrons to step forward with information.

An autopsy for Word is being done Monday in Fort Wayne.
