Man rescued from porch roof during South Bend house fire

A man was rescued from the roof of a porch on a South Bend home that caught fire.

The blaze broke out just before 3 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, in the 1000 block of Diamond Avenue.

The man, who was not injured, was the only person at the home at the time of the fire, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

There was severe damage to the home, which has been deemed inhabitable, ABC 57 reported.

As of 8 a.m. on Sunday, there was no word of the cause of the blaze.
