South Bend offering Christmas tree disposal after Christmas

If you live in the City of South Bend and have a live Christmas tree in your home, you’ll have two opportunities to get rid of the tree after the holiday.

City residents who have trash service provided through the city can call South Bend’s 3-1-1 number or use the city’s website to schedule a pickup of their tree. You can also drop the tree off at Organic Resources at 4340 Trade Drive.

If you’ve used the Pinhook Park drop off location in the past, keep in mind that site is no longer being used for tree disposal.

Make sure you remove all lights, ornaments, and metal, including tree stands or nails, and any plastic coverings.

The service will be provided from Dec. 26 through Feb. 1.
