Westville Correctional Facility officer accused of trying to smuggle drugs into jail

A LaPorte County correctional officer was caught trying to sneak drugs into the Westville Correctional Facility.

Saturday, WNDU reports a pack of cigarettes fell onto the floor from Officer Paul Farkas that was found to contain a clear plastic bag and a small silver wrapper, which were found to contain heroin and cocaine, and a straw.

Farkas was arrested on a felony charge of trafficking a controlled substance and is currently in the LaPorte County Jail.
