Fourth man charged with murder in quadruple shooting last summer in South Bend

A sixth person has been charged in connection with two shooting deaths, during a drug deal gone wrong, last summer, on Fredrickson Street in South Bend.

Jermon Gavin, 27, is charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted robbery, two counts of attempted murder and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

It was back in August 2017 when South Bend Police heard gunshots in the area of Lincolnway and Frederickson.

They found two people shot in a garage at a home. One of the victims, Damon Bethel, was dead.

A few blocks away, they found an SUV that had crashed.

The driver, Anton James, was dead.

Joshua Sage, Jesus Pedraza and Benito Pedraza are also charged with murder. Two others face drug and weapons charges.
