Man found in vehicle in St. Joseph River identified

The man found dead in a vehicle which either rolled or was driven into the St. Joseph River in Osceola has been identified.

Police were called to the waterfront in the 700 block of Vistula Road around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, where they found Houston Rayburn, 31, of Mishawaka along with the vehicle in the water.

It’s believed the vehicle ended up in the water during the overnight hours, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The coroner’s office will try to determine what might have caused Rayburn to end up in the water, ABC 57 reported.
