The roller coaster weather of March continues this week with a brief return to winter.

The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for St. Joseph, LaPorte and Berrien Counties. The advisory is in effect from 12 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13.

Portions of northwest Michiana could see 1 to 3 inches of snow, with localized amounts to 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities during the morning and early afternoon commute on Tuesday.

Whatever falls won’t stick on the ground for very long. Temperatures will warm back up on Thursday and Friday and skies will turn sunny once again.

    • Monday Night: Lake effect snow develops, low of 26.
    • Tuesday: Lake effect snow showers, high of 32.
