Shots fired at two different locations in South Bend on Monday night

One person was hospitalized after being shot in the 1100 block of W. Western Avenue in South Bend.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department were called to the area around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, March 12, where they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The South Bend Tribune reports the wounds to person injured were self-inflicted. Their condition was not known as of late Monday night.

Around that same time, shots were also reported near the area of Walnut and Ford Streets in South Bend. Some homes were hit by gunfire but there were no additional injuries, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

There was no word, yet, of any possible suspects or arrests as of 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
