INDOT planning pavement marker maintenance on northern Indiana highways

The Indiana Department of Transportation recently announced new construction will begin along several northeast Indiana highways.

Contractors will begin updating raised pavement markers on Monday, March 19, weather permitting.

Work is set to take place on the following roadways:

I-69 in Huntington, Wells and Allen counties
· From mile marker 285 to mile marker 317

S.R. 1 in Wells County
· From .20 miles south of S.R. 116 (south junction) to .54 miles north of S.R. 116 (south junction)

S.R. 3 in Huntington County
· From S.R. 218 to U.S. 224

U.S. 6 in Elkhart and Noble counties
· From U.S. 33/S.R. 13 to west limits of the City of Kendallville

S.R. 9 in Grant, Huntington, Whitley and Noble counties
· From the Mississinewa River to 2.51 miles south of U.S. 24
· From U.S. 24 (east junction) to S.R. 14
· From U.S. 30 to U.S. (west junction)
· From U.S. 6 (east junction) to the Michigan State Line

S.R. 14 in Whitley and Allen counties
· From S.R. 9 to I-69

S.R. 18 in Grant, Blackford and Jay counties
· From S.R. 13 (west junction) to Miller Avenue in the City of Marion
· From 2.01 miles east of S.R. 9 to I-69
· From S.R. 3 to U.S. 27

U.S. 20 in Elkhart and LaGrange counties
· From 2.21 miles west of S.R. 15 to .47 miles west of S.R. 9

S.R. 22 in Grant County
· From I-69 to S.R. 26

U.S. 24 in Wabash, Huntington, Whitley and Allen counties
· From S.R. 13 to .35 miles east of I-69

U.S. 30 in Whitley and Allen counties
· From S.R. 5 to .19 miles east of S.R. 9
· From 8.02 miles west of I-69 to I-69
· From the Ohio State Line to 3.02 miles south of U.S. 27
· From U.S. 30 to 1.56 miles north of U.S. 30

· From the Allen/Adams County Line to U.S. 30

S.R. 114 in Whitley and Huntington counties
· From S.R. 9 to U.S. 24
· S.R. 116 in Huntington, Wells and Adams counties
· From S.R. 3 to S.R. 124 (north junction)
· From S.R. 1 to U.S. 27

S.R. 124 in Huntington, Wells and Adams counties
· From S.R. 3 to S.R. 116
· From S.R. 1 (south junction) to the Ohio State Line

S.R. 218 in Huntington, Wells and Adams counties

U.S. 224 in Huntington, Wells and Adams counties
· From .30 miles west of I-69 to the Ohio State Line

During the day, drivers should watch for lane restrictions, stopped traffic and flaggers in these areas. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety while driving through active work zones.

These construction sites are expected to be completed by early July.
