Some jobs at Honeywell in South Bend are reportedly headed overseas.

About 265 people work at the Honeywell South Bend Aerospace Plant, and UAW Local 9 says some of their work is now being outsourced. The union told WNDU those employees have been told to expect some layoffs by year’s end.

Permanent job losses are expected in the second half of the year, with jobs moving to the Alp corporation, in Turkey.

Honeywell officials, meanwhile, have released a statement saying they are considering a pair of strategic moves that will “better align” their resources, generate sales, and help to serve their customers.
