Murder charges are pending against an Elkhart woman following a murder this week.

Police arrested 50-year-old Cindy Kay Goodwin Wednesday for the murder of Johnny Mullins. His body was found in the woods north of the Walnut Trails Apartment Complex on Monday.

Goodwin lives in the apartment complex where the murder took place.

No further information about why she allegedly shot and killed Mullins was released. That will likely come when formal charges are filed Tuesday.

Additional arrests are possible.
