Berrien County officials say a 20-year-old man accidentally killed himself with a gun.

Benton Charter Township police were called to a home just east of I-94 near the intersection of Territorial and Benton Center.

Witnesses told police the man didn’t believe the gun was loaded or functional when he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

He died at the scene. Police have ruled out foul play.

Police ruled out foul play but are considering stupidity.

Actually it was the smartest thing this guy ever did. Now he’s unable to accidentally shoot anyone else. A cleansing of the gene pool if you will.
