There are multiple suitors to pick up St. Joseph County’s leaves, and it’s quite possible that multiple companies may end up doing just that.

St. Joseph County officials are considering letting multiple companies handle certain areas of the county.

The South Bend Tribune reports one of those companies is a company called St. Joseph County Recycling. A further look into public records show, however, that this is Greenworld, the company previously tasked with picking up leaves exclusively and has been criticized for missing routes.

Other contractors representing groups out of New Carlisle, South Bend, and Elkhart expressed interest in picking up leaves in particular townships.

No decision has been made yet, and Greenworld’s contract expires after this spring.
