After seasons of frustration and difficulty, St. Joseph County Commissioners say they are looking into different companies for leaf pickup.

The county met on Tuesday to discuss new options. The South Bend Tribune reports that a new company may be handling leaf pickup in the county as soon as next year.

Officials are hopeful that the process of selecting a new company to tackle the difficult job will be a competitive one.

Current contractor Greenworld still has the spring pass to complete, and then that will be the end of their five-year contract.

$750,000 has been budgeted for the program.
