Notre Dame men’s basketball coach Mike Brey is hanging around for a while. In fact, Mike Brey will be at the helm of the team for the next seven seasons.

The program announced Tuesday that it has agreed to extend Brey’s contract to the 2024-25 season.

He spent his 18th season with the Irish this past year and passed Digger Phelps for the men’s basketball wins record at 394. He won his 400th game with the Irish in late February.

Despite the team’s struggles and NIT birth this past season, Brey’s group of seniors are the most accomplished in school history: with 103 wins, the 2016 ACC title, and back-to-back Elite Eight appearances.

Duke had been rumored to be interested in him, but Brey insists Notre Dame is home.
