A St. Joseph County police officer was hospitalized after a crash in Mishawaka Saturday.

The crash happened at about 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of Bittersweet Road and Lincolnway, according to police.

A 71-year-old Mishawaka woman was reportedly pulling out of the Martin’s shopping plaza when her vehicle collided with the officer’s vehicle.

The officer was taken to Memorial Hospital and was treated and released. The Mishawaka woman wasn’t hurt.
