Elkhart and Goshen will be hooked up with 5G internet next week

Parts of Elkhart and Goshen are about to start enjoying 5G internet service.

Commercial Broadband Solutions will bring next generation internet connectivity to Elkhart County, setting up 5G internet service to downtown Elkhart and Goshen in the coming weeks.

Businesses along or near Main Street in both cities will be able to get 1 gigabit per second speeds.

In recent months, large communications companies have been testing 5G and planning rollouts in large cities. Korea showcased the technology during the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The 5G service will be available along Main Street and within a block or so on either side.

Businesses will get a line into their building for them to share the speedy internet over ethernet or wifi, and it will cost $129 per month.

The company says that that will not just be an introductory price.
