Teen charged with attempted murder in Mishawaka shooting case

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a Mishawaka apartment shooting this week.

Shots rang out around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the West Jefferson Apartments in Mishawaka.

The shooting left one person hospitalized with critical injuries.

The suspect, Andrew Arnold Howard III, 18, was arrested in Elkhart.

Police at the time told the South Bend Tribune it appeared to be a drug deal gone bad.

In addition to attempted murder, Howard is also facing an attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury charge.

He faces 70 years in prison if convicted.
