Shooting in Elkhart leaves one injured

Elkhart police are looking for whoever drove up to a parked vehicle and fired shots at the people inside it.

Police were called to the 1600 Morehouse Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. Friday after getting a report of a shooting with injuries. Police say a group of people were sitting in a vehicle. Someone in a passing vehicle opened fire on the vehicle.

One victim was taken to the hospital after being hit with glass and possibly a bullet. That person was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.

There’s no suspect information at this time.
