Notre Dame’s Corby Hall, built in 1895, will be demolished next month

One of the oldest buildings at Notre Dame will be torn down soon.

Corby Hall is one of the oldest buildings on the campus, and will be demolished in June.

The South Bend Tribune reports that the plan is to replace it with a new hall with a similar design. The yellow brick building is the traditional home of the congregation of Holy Cross priests, who live and work at the University.

The decision to demolish and rebuild was reached after the school explored plans to renovate the building that turned out to not be feasible.
