Indiana Michigan Power is gearing up for a $92 million rebuilding project in Michiana.

The project is expected to take about three years to complete, and involves the overhaul of 46 miles of transmission line. Also, a number of aging steel lattices that carry high voltage lines will be replaced by 120-foot steel poles.

Officials tell ABC 57 News that the improvements will cut down on the likelihood of outages during stormy weather.

The project would begin in Granger, and then move into Berrien and Cass Counties, ending in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph.
