A crash on the Indiana Toll Road in Porter County claimed the life of a Chicago area man.

The collision happened just after 12 a.m. on Monday, May 28 when the driver of a 2018 Infinity was traveling westbound at the 28 mile marker and went off the roadway and hit a guard rail.

The force of the collision caused the Infinity to nose dive into the grassy median.

The driver, Ashay Kparker, 41, of Burr Ridge, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner with the Porter County Coroner’s office.

Kparker was not wearing his seat belt which Indiana State Police investigators say contributed to his fatal injuries.

Drivers are reminded that Operation Pull Over Click It or Ticket is ongoing and runs through June 3.

Indiana State Police and local law enforcement partners are targeting seatbelt and child restraint violations, as well as dangerous, impaired, and aggressive driving.
