Governor Eric Holcomb will be in Mishawaka Wednesday for a big announcement.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says he will be joining executives from both SF Motors and St. Joseph County at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for an “economic development announcement.”

SF Motors bought AM General’s commercial assembly plant in June 2017…months before its employees were set to be laid off after AM General lost its remaining commercial contract for vehicles to be made from that plant.

Since the purchase, SF Motors announced plans to use the Mishawaka plant to make two types of electric concept vehicles that could have self-driving and smart technology capabilities.
