Michigan City officers have both found the truck and suspected driver from a fatal hit-and-run Tuesday morning.

Michigan City police say a pedestrian was hit and killed shortly after 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the King’s Inn Parking lot on Kieffer Road west of Franklin Street. The victim was reportedly dead when police arrived.

Witnesses told police she was hit by a red tanker semi-truck that took off southbound towards I-94.

Michigan City Police Wednesday say that both the truck and the driver have been found thanks to the help of the public and investigators. Officers say the driver and owner of the semi are cooperating with the investigation.
