Syracuse man in critical condition after truck runs into tree

One man is in critical condition after a head-on crash in Kosciusko County Monday.

Syracuse Police and emergency personnel were called to the N. Huntington Street and W. Boston Street intersection around 3:15 p.m. on reports of a single-vehicle crash.

An investigation revealed a 2001 Dodge Ram truck was traveling southbound when it struck a tree on the eastern edge of the roadway.

The driver sustained serious facial and head injuries from the collision, and was transported to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment. He is currently listed in critical condition.

The crash is still under investigation, and it is unknown at this time why the driver veered off the roadway.
