PETA offering reward in South Bend geese killing case

Update: We have removed a reference to Canadian geese being endangered. Canadian geese are considered “least concern” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. We regret the error.

PETA is now getting involved in the investigation of who ran over a flock of geese in South Bend.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals released a statement, saying they’re offering a reward up to $5,000 for information that leads to the geese killer.

Both adult and baby geese were run over by an unknown suspect on Northside Boulevard last Thursday. A picture on Facebook shows South Bend city employees picking up the remains that stretched for over a block.

South Bend Animal Care and Control is now handling the investigation.

However, there have been zero leads in their investigation so far.
