Northern Indiana animal lovers outraged over dog euthanization in Tennessee

Animal lovers in the Fort Wayne area are outraged over the euthanization of a Fort Wayne dog at a Tennessee shelter.

The Allen County SPCA originally adopted out a German Shepherd mix named Jax that ended up at a shelter in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The shelter had contacted SPCA director Jessica Henry on June 27th, to ask if they wanted the dog back.

She said they did, and then claims all communication from Rutherford County ceased, despite numerous follow-up phone calls to arrange a pick-up.

Then they were notified yesterday that the dog had been put down on July 6th due to aggression issues, which the dog’s former foster family denies.
