South Bend attorney accused of running “Ponzi scheme” has apparently vanished

Police are looking for a former South Bend attorney accused of stealing money from his clients. The problem is…he seems to have vanished.

Sven Eric Marshall is a certified public accountant and had an office on Mishawaka Avenue that closed without warning earlier this year.

The South Bend Tribune reports no one can reach him by phone, he’s nowhere to be found online, and no one answers the door at two South Bend homes he owns. H

e’s accused of running a “Ponzi scheme” with his clients in three civil lawsuits filed by a total of nine clients who say he stole from them. One claims he stole over $700,000.

His law license has been suspended and he has yet to respond to any of the lawsuits.

He even reportedly owes $18,000 in back rent to the owner of the building his office was in.
