Two men injured in small plane crash at Dowagiac Municipal Airport

Two people received minor injuries after a small plane crashed at Dowagiac Municipal Airport.

The collision happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, according to the Dowagiac Police Department.

The pilot, a 54-year-old man, was treated on scene by medics. His passenger, a 51-year-old man was taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, for non-life threatening injuries and later released.

The South Bend-based plane was beginning to take off at the time of the crash.

This accident is still under investigation by the FAA.
