The St. Joseph County Commission has approved a leaf pickup contract for the fall.

The commissioners sought to extend the leaf pick-up contract that ended earlier this year, but not everyone was on board with the idea.

Thursday afternoon, they voted on a $1.1 million appropriation to fund that extension, with every resident guaranteed two passes this fall.

No one needs to register for those pickups and some flexibility was left in the contract in case the county wants to offer a third pickup in the spring.

St. Joe County Recyling, formerly Greenworld, will be responsible for the leaf pick ups.

What is the definition of insanity? Someone who keeps doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
