Effort underway for a handicap-accessible park with a splash-pad in LaPorte

Next summer could bring a new place to relax, play, and cool off in LaPorte.

The city is developing a plan for a handicap-accessible park that would include a playground and a splash-pad. However, in order to qualify for matching funds from the state to help finance the park, project leaders at Bethany Church have to raise 50 thousand dollars by September 29th.

So, they’re asking the community to pitch in and make the park a reality. The park would also be handicap accessible, a rarity around LaPorte, and would include waterproof wheelchairs.
