Mayor Buttigieg proposes bringing South Shore line back to downtown South Bend

The South Shore line could return to downtown South Bend if Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s vision becomes reality.

The mayor recommended bringing rail service back to the city’s center by the year 2025 during Monday night’s Common Council meeting.

However, the mayor’s proposal brought up all sorts of questions, including how the 100 million dollar project would be paid for and how the public would be able to weigh in.

Leaders from the South Shore line and South Bend Airport would both prefer to see the new station be built west of the airport, which goes through the Ardmore neighborhood.

princess booty-judge just LOVES to waste taxpayer money. Years ago the taxpayers spent money to move the South Shore terminal to the airport. Years ago the taxpayers spent money to change the downtown streets to one-way. The princess has now spent, or proposed to spend, money to go back to the originals. The princess needs to abdicate the throne.
