Joseph Craigo, who stood trial in the death of his father, was found guilty Friday morning of First Degree Murder. Craigo was found guilty after three days in a Cass County courtroom.

In the spring of last year his father Alan Craigo died of a puncture wound to his neck, and nearly a dozen other stab wounds.

In court on Thursday Joseph Craigo, who is from Elkhart, testified that he was afraid of his father and the incident was self-defense. He described his father as abusive while on the stand. His ex-wife testified that she had never heard Craigo mention any violent behavior by his father in the past.
