Indiana unemployment rates stay below national average

Indiana’s unemployment numbers for July are in, and the state is continuing to stay below the national rate.

Indiana’s unemployment rate was at 3.4% for July, and remains lower than the national rate of 3.9%. In fact, with the exception of October of 2014 when it was equal, Indiana’s unemployment rate has been below the national rate for more than four years.

Additionally, Indiana’s labor force growth of 67,519 over the past six months represents the state’s largest six-month increase since 1995 in the state. Initial unemployment insurance claims also continue to be at historic lows.
