Arrest made after deadly hit-and-run collision south of downtown South Bend

A suspect in a deadly hit-and-run collision south of downtown South Bend has been arrested.

Dylan McDaniel, 26, was arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail, Saturday, on preliminary suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

The victim, a 54-year-old man, was hit around 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, at Michigan and Bowman Streets, near McDonald’s.

The man was walking southbound when he was stuck by the vehicle, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
