Man killed after his moped struck a stopped vehicle in Goshen

A 52-year-old man was killed when the moped he was operating struck the back of a stopped vehicle.

The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 4, in the area of Lincolnway East and Douglas Street in Goshen, according to a news release from the Goshen Police Department.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release stated.

The roadway was closed to traffic while officers conducted their investigation and removed debris from the roadway.

The area reopened to traffic around 5 p.m.
