Woman arrested after alleged attempted butcher knife attack in front of children

A woman is in jail after police say she threatened an acquaintance with a butcher knife.

The victim told police that Vanessa Campbell, 42, tried to stab her repeatedly.

The alleged attack happened in front of five children, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

When officers got in the home, they found the knife near the front door and Campbell trying to hide, ABC 57 reported.

Campbell told cops she feared for her safety and needed to protect herself, ABC 57 reported.

She was arrested and booked in the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of intimidation and attempted battery by means of a deadly weapon.
